EGG-citing news!

Big news!  It's only day 20 but I stopped by school today just in case, and look who I met!  Our first chick is still wet and worn out and if you look closely another is one it's way!

It's going to be an EGG-citing week in first grade!

Thanks for reading and please consider following my blog, TPT store and/or facebook page!

  1. Hi Becky! Just found your blog through the blog hop, I'm not quite sure if my link is working but I'm taking a look at all the other blogs. What do you do with the chicks? I've been thinking about doing this with my kids but I guess I would have to find a local farm or something to take them in, right? I'm your newest follower!

    1. Welcome! Your blog hop link is working; I just checked out your blog post on milk carton boats. This is only my 2nd year doing the chicks; last year none hatched (sad lesson in the circle of life) so I didn't need to worry about it. I sent a note home in my newsletter about looking for homes once they were ready and luckily one of my students' family owns a local farm and is willing to take them. I live in a fairly rural area so finding homes isn't too difficult. If you decide to try hatching chicks, be sure to check out my hatching chicks mini-unit at my TPT store; the chick countdown chain has been a big hit! Thanks for stopping by!
